What To Do In Brisbane This Winter

It’s June already?! While the rest of the country is bringing out their winter woolies, we are lucky enough to enjoy warmer days which never require more than a light knit. While it may feel like all your friends are packing for a European summer vacation, let’s not make them jealous of the fantastic winter activities they’ll be missing out on. We’ve got many places to eat, experience live music and plenty of viewing spots. Let’s get right into our list of Brisbane’s best winter activities for 2019!

Strawberry Picking Up The Sunshine Coast

Looking for something family friendly or just something different to try with your friends, then you cannot pass this up. It’s strawberry season, so rather picking up a disappointing punnet from your local shop go and pick giant fresh berries yourself at Rolin Strawberry Farms or the Strawberry Fields in Palmview. You’re guaranteed to get the most perfect Instagram pictures among the fields while scoring the most amazing strawberries you’ll ever see.

When: May to October

It’s EKKA Time!

ekkashow

Speaking of strawberries, it’s nearly time to grab an iconic strawberry sundae at the EKKA! Fun fact: Brisbane eats about 10 tonnes of strawberries every Ekka, so it’s pretty obvious we’re crazy for the fruit. From August 9th to the 18th you can roll on over to Sideshow Valley for some rides while getting some classic eats (you’d be crazy missing a Dagwood Dog!) Even though Brisbane winter’s don’t get that cold at all, still remember to bring along an extra layer if you go during the evening.

Splendour In The Grass

With a line-up packed with international and local bands and plenty of activities, you won’t get the chance to be bored.
